Café de Paris: Monaco's Iconic Eatery Set to Reopen in Spectacular Fashion

Nestled in the heart of Monaco's vibrant Place du Casino, Café de Paris, a legendary institution, is about to make a spectacular comeback. After an extensive renovation, this iconic eatery is set to reopen in November, promising a blend of history, charm, and exciting transformations that will leave an indelible mark on all who visit.

Café de Paris, a legendary institution nestled in the heart of the bustling Place du Casino in Monaco, is set to reopen its doors mid-November in a spectacular fashion. A press conference held on Wednesday, September 27th, was abuzz with the exciting news. Stéphane Valeri, Chairman and CEO of the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, proudly shared insights into the remarkable transformation that is underway.

"It's an impressive war machine to turn this iconic restaurant into a magical venue that absolutely has to be visited, and is a must-do when people come to the Place du Casino. The deadlines we announced have been confirmed: the work will be completed by the end of October," Stéphane Valeri announced with enthusiasm.

After the grand renovation, two weeks of preparation will be dedicated to enabling the staff to acclimate to the transformed environment. This transition is necessary because the restructuring is set to double the number of meals served at Café de Paris.

A Historic Transformation and Exciting Changes Await Visitors

"On the ground floor, we'll have the modern, iconic brasserie, and on the first floor, we'll have a venue that is cosier, more chic," explained Stéphane Valeri, giving a glimpse of the exciting changes that await visitors.

The illustrious Salle Empire, which currently houses the Café de Paris, will bid farewell at the end of October. Subsequently, in mid-November, the famous brasserie will welcome the public once again, revealing its stunning new avatar.

Discover the Rich History and Promising Future of Café de Paris

The Café de Paris has a rich history that dates back to its founding in 1868 when it was initially known as Café Divan. It wasn't until 1882 that the establishment assumed the name Café de Paris. Over the years, it underwent several transformations, each adding a unique layer to its identity.

In the early 1930s, the café adopted an Art Deco style, only to be reimagined in the Belle Époque style of the 1900s in 1988. The Café de Paris then became reminiscent of a traditional Parisian bistro. The warm ambience was characterized by elegant lampshades, antique stained glass windows, inviting sofas, and comfortable armchairs. Its terrace remained a beloved spot for patrons to gather and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

Today, after numerous architectural metamorphoses, the Café de Paris stands as a harmonious blend of styles—a testament to its enduring charm and significance in the heart of Monaco's vibrant Place du Casino.

The upcoming reopening promises a revitalized experience for all who visit, as Café de Paris continues to weave its rich history into the fabric of Monte-Carlo. It's an eagerly awaited transformation that is sure to leave an indelible mark on locals and tourists alike, inviting them to make cherished memories within its storied walls once more.
