Three requirements to prepare for
- Accommodation in Monaco suited to the people who will live there. Buying is not the only option: renting can also provide proof of accommodation, with the required documents.
- Sufficient resources, documented according to your circumstances: salary, professional income, savings or financial support in the cases accepted by the authorities.
- Evidence of good character, including the criminal record extracts or equivalent documents requested for the countries where you have lived.
The exact documents and preliminary formalities, including a visa where required, depend on your circumstances. Check the official procedure before ordering documents or setting a moving date.
Choosing a home for everyday life
Set out the number of occupants, bedrooms needed, journeys to work or school, parking needs and your full budget. A home in neighbouring France does not count as accommodation in Monaco for this application.
Buying a property or signing a lease does not guarantee a residence permit. The application is assessed by the Monegasque authorities; a residence permit should not be confused with Monegasque citizenship.
